It’s almost time for Middle School Cross Country!!
It’s almost time for Middle School Cross Country!!
Join Platte Valley’s MS Cross Country team, the sport of long distance running! This sport proves to be a mental and physical challenge in which adolescents find their strengths and finish each race with great self satisfaction. I plan to incorporate many techniques into the upcoming 2019 season, including strength training, distance runs, interval runs, rest days, and, of course, racing! I look forward to a successful and rewarding season for the 6th-8th grade runners!

Practices will be every day after school from 3:15-4:30 starting, Monday, August 12th. Runners need to be dressed out, water bottles filled, and ready to start practice at 3:10 every day. I anticipate a few days off when runners need a recovery day from an intense practice or race, and the season will end the second week of October. The season consists of seven meets, one of which our middle school team will travel with the high school team. Before participating in Cross County, every runner will need to get a sport physical and document it with the office. There is also an athletic fee of $40. There will be a sports information meeting for 6th grade parents on August 12th at the Middle School. There will be a Cross Country parent meeting August 19th with coach from 6:00-7:00 pm during the Middle School open house.
